Overall Opinion:
Skin Laundry is a company based in California that specializes in laser treatments for better and brighter skin.
I love the idea of a daily moisturizer that has good SPF protection, but this one was a little disappointing for me.
As far as the positives, this daily moisturizer has SPF 35 and is made to keep your skin safe from damaging UV rays. It is a moisturizer with medium thickness and doesn’t have perfume.
The downsides are that it smells and feels like typical sunscreen. I wouldn’t recommend this for people with oily skin. It soaks in fast, but doesn’t really do much for skin tone in terms of texture.
It is also on the more expensive side for a daily moisturizer. I have used others that have really great organic/natural ingredients that cost around the same price for less than 2 fluid ounces.
Overall, I thought this was a good face sunscreen, but not daily moisturizer. There are too many other good daily moisturizers out there with SPF protection that are around the same price, so I had to give this a 2 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Skin Laundry Daily Moisturizer is a daily facial moisturizer that is not too thick and not too thin. It is really white though, so I had to really work it into my skin so that it wouldn’t show up white on my face.
It is almost the exact texture of a regular sunscreen – white cream that is a little on the oiler side.
Application
Application of this lotion is super easy. The packaging looks really nice and works great with a pump at the end of a bottle.
It comes with a cap over the top. The only thing I don’t like is that if you lose the cap, you can’t stand it up on your counter.
I was able to cover my whole face and neck with about 1.5 pumps, so a little bit goes a long way.
Drying Time
Drying time was pretty fast – I would say no more than 1-2 minutes as long as I made sure to really work it into my skin.
It is really white like regular sunscreen, so if you’re not careful, it will show up white on your skin if you don’t really work it in.
It soaks and has a little bit of a shine to it at first, which disappears and becomes more of a matte finish.
Smell
This doesn’t have any perfume, so it smells just like sunscreen. I really didn’t like the smell and I found that it lingered on during the day even under my makeup.
Immediate Results
I didn’t think my skin felt moisturized at all after I applied this. It soaks in super fast, but it didn’t make my skin feel soft.
I could tell that it completely soaked in because my skin felt almost dry after I applied it, like I had not applied much at all.
Longer Term Results
The other thing I really didn’t like was that the directions said to apply it every two hours. That might be practical if you are spending a day out by the pool, but as a daily moisturizer, I didn’t have the discipline or time to apply it that often.
This really did nothing for my fine lines or dark spots. I didn’t see any acne or redness after using it, but I also didn’t really see any benefits.
I am guessing this is more of a protection moisturizer, which is good to help prevent more dark spots and wrinkles from forming, but it didn’t do much for the existing skin imperfections that I have.
I think this is a better option for people just looking for a facial sunscreen rather than a moisturizer. It really didn’t do anything as far as hydrating my skin.
Ingredient Notes
Skin Laundry Daily Moisturizer has tons of ingredients, none of which are really organic or natural.
In terms of sun protection, all of the active ingredients are chemical sunscreens as opposed to mineral sunscreens. Chemical sunscreens have been found to have an effect on hormone levels over time. While there isn’t any evidence this is a bad thing, I would rather use something with mineral based sunscreen in it.
This moisturizer has cucumber extract in it, which has been shown to help with inflammation and redness. It also has Vitamin C and other minerals that nourish and hydrate skin.
Anacyclus Pyrethrum Extract is used in skincare products as an anti inflammatory agent. It is also said to help remove the dead skin cells on the outer layer and make skin look younger and brighter.
The ingredients in this moisturizer were not really that impressive.
Price
A 1.7 fl oz tube can be found for $25 online.
That works out to $14.70 per oz, which I thought was ok but a little pricy for what is in it.
Guarantee
Skin Laundry only accepts returns of unused products that are purchased in clinics or on the Skin Laundry website within 30 days of purchase. So if you use it and don’t like it, you can’t get your money back.
